Probiotics for women: what are the health benefits?

Just why are probiotics for women important in terms of their benefits to health? A healthy balanced microbiome is important for us all and most of us would benefit from upping our intake of probiotic-rich foods or taking a probiotic supplement. However, women in general have slightly different needs and may require additional probiotic support relating to vaginal, digestive, hormonal and urogenital imbalances.

The microbiome is the genetic material of all the microbes that live on and inside the human body and different parts of the body have distinct communities of microbes. Skin function: the skin as an organ

The skin is the largest organ in the body. It may appear to be a superficial covering, but it possesses multiple functions and is fundamental to health.

Skin conditions are common, and it is important not to separate them from the skin as a functional organ. Where we see skin conditions such as eczema, rosacea, acne and psoriasis it is an indication of a further underlying dysfunction and should be treated as such.

The skin itself is both influenced by the excretion, detoxification, endocrine, and immune systems as well as the microbiome but at the same time it plays a fundamental role in the regulation of all of these.
